About Richard Motos, DPM, FACFAS

With over 15 years in practice as an innovative foot and ankle specialist, Richard Motos, DPM, FACFAS, a board-certified podiatrist, can diagnose and treat a wide variety of lower extremity issues. Dr. Motos welcomes new and existing patients to Sequoia Foot Care Group in Visalia, California.

For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Motos went to the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology, minoring in chemistry. Dr. Motos was regularly on the dean’s list and even became a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society during his undergraduate program.

After graduation, Dr. Motos attended the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and continued to further his education after completing his graduate program.

Dr. Motos went through a comprehensive internship and podiatric residency program for three years, focusing on foot and ankle surgery and wound healing. He trained at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, as well as affiliated hospitals throughout the five boroughs and Long Island. Dr. Motos is board certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Not only does Dr. Motos maintain his license to practice podiatric medicine in California, but he also holds California Licentiate Supervisor and Operator permits for radiography and fluoroscopy. Dr. Motos maintains professional memberships with the American Podiatric Medical Association and the California Podiatric Medical Association.

As a first generation Filipino-American who’s fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Motos provides a unique cultural background for his patients. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Motos is on staff at Kaweah Delta Hospital and Cypress Surgery Center in Visalia. He frequently donates his time at the local Visalia Samaritan Center, a free community medical clinic.

When he’s not busy caring for patients, Dr. Motos enjoys the warm and friendly atmosphere of Visalia and its residents. He likes taking trips to the beach, Sequoia National Forest, and Yosemite National Park with his family.
